Teens charged in connection to assault of woman during outbreak of mob violence

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) –Two teenagers have been charged for the assault of a woman who was knocked unconscious while sitting in a vehicle with her children during an outbreak of mob violence in downtown Louisville.

According to Louisville Metro police, on March 22 the woman was inside of her stopped vehicle at the intersection of 1st and Jefferson Streets with her fiancé and five children when she was hit in the face, rendering her unconscious.

Friday evening Shaquazz Allen, 18, and Tyrone Booker, 19, were taken into custody in connection to the assault.

In a separate incident around 11:50 p.m. the same night officers said Allen and Booker were with Craig Dean and Jerron Bush when they allegedly approached a woman at a TARC stop on Amy and Market Streets, pointed a silver revolver at her head and demanded her purse.

Allen and Booker are charged with seven counts of unlawful imprisonment, criminal mischief, assault and robbery.

Je'rece Archie, 18, and a 17-year-old juvenile are also charged in connection to the violent acts that occurred.

LMPD is continuing to investigate Saturday's events and additional arrests are expected.
