LMPD: Drunk woman causes restaurant disturbance over presence of African-Americans

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A woman caused a disruption at a Jerry's Restaurant early Saturday morning, yelling and grabbing customers and causing alarm to people inside the business.

According to an arrest report, Marlene Gail Burns, 47, told police she was upset that African-American people were inside the Jerry's on Preston Highway and that "she believed they were going to riot like they did on the waterfront."

Police asked Burns how much she'd had to drink, and she told them she'd had some Miller Lites at Union Station, a bar. She could not tell police anything else about where she had been during the night, except that her friends had left her at Jerry's. The incident happened around 5 a.m. Saturday.

Police determined Burns was a danger to herself and others and placed her under arrest. She is charged with disorderly conduct and alcohol intoxication in a public place.
