SELLERSBURG, IN (WAVE) – A driver who led police on a short chase in a stolen vehicle was ejected in a crash that involved two other vehicles, according to Sellersburg police.

Sellersburg Police Chief Russ Whelan said officers received a report the suspect was driving erratically in downtown Sellersburg Tuesday evening.

Police were able to catch up to the suspect on State Road 403, heading toward Charlestown, but the driver refused to stop.

Whelan said the suspect continued for an estimated seven miles before wrecking into a vehicle that was attempting to make a turn. Upon impact the suspect's vehicle flipped several times before coming to rest on a third vehicle.

Both the suspect and the driver of the vehicle attempting to turn were taken to University of Louisville Hospital for treatment. Their conditions have not been released but Whelan said both were conscious and alert.

The driver of the third vehicle involved was transported to an area for treatment.

Whelan said following the crash officer's discovered the vehicle had been stolen in Radcliff, Kentucky. Whelan also said the suspect did have outstanding warrants.

The suspect's identity has not been released.
