LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - There are Kentucky Wildcats fans and there's Rhonda and Art Wilson. For the past several weeks, with each Kentucky men's basketball win, they added a few more UK blue decorations to their home off of Lower Hunters Trace in Pleasure Ridge Park. By Saturday, their home looked like a Kentucky Wildcats shrine!
Art Wilson gives his wife credit for her dedication, saying, "she decorates for Christmas, Halloween, Easter, pretty much everything and she always goes to extreme!"
Rhonda said, "I decided that they deserve it, I mean they really deserve this!"
All times of day and night cars blow their horns in support of the Wilson's Big Blue decorations and the Wildcats. At times, drivers will even stop in front of their home just to take pictures of all the decorations ornamenting their home and the fence line on their entire one acre lot.
The Wilson's started the Final Four game day party early. At 9 a.m. they kicked off their annual neighborhood yard sale. This time that would lead up to a big blue watch party as they faced the Badgers of Wisconsin Saturday night. They invited everyone in their neighborhood, including University of Louisville fans like siblings Kourtney and Patrick.
Patrick admits that he's a die hard Cards fan, "but since we lost to Kentucky fair and square, I will say I guess they need to bring it home for us, they need to beat Wisconsin."
By the end of Saturday night, the Wildcats had done just that. By one point beating the Wisconsin Badgers and moving on to the NCAA Men's Basketball Championship where they'll face UConn on Monday night. The Wilson's couldn't be happier with the Kentucky win and say their home will stay decked out in blue for at least another two weeks, win or lose.
