April 6: Julie of the Wolves

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Described as an indie punk band, this female ‘supergroup' is taking over the Louisville music scene.

Meet Julie of the Wolves comprised of vocalist/guitarist Carrie Neumayer, Stephanie Gary, Salena Filichia and Becca Lindsay. The name of the band comes from the 1972 novel by Jean Craighead George, in which the title character must face changes and dangerous challenges forced upon her from culture, elements and humankind.

Julie of the Wolves is playing Thursday, April 10 at the New Vintage on Preston Street. The concert is a fundraiser to benefit the Louisville Outskirts Festival in October. Screaming Females and the Debauchees will also be playing.

The show is $10 and kicks off at 8:00. All ages are welcome and alcohol will be served with a valid ID.

If you're going to see Julie of the Wolves live at the New Vintage, we want to see your pictures! Tweet them using the hashtag #TheSetlistWAVE and we'll add them to our website.

The Setlist is a collaboration between WFPK Music Director Kyle Meredith and WAVE 3 News Producer Laurel Mallory with videography and editing by Chris Witzke. It airs every Sunday morning on WAVE 3 News Weekend Sunrise.
