Sunrise to Go: Wednesday, April 9

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Here are 10 things Kentuckiana will be talking about today:

Sun- The clouds have cleared out and you'll need your sunglasses today with highs back in the 60s.Winds shift tonight bringing warmer temperatures and a nice breeze to WAVE Country tomorrow. A few storms are possible tomorrow night, and storms likely for Friday.

Slide - It's the largest bridge slide of its type in North America. The new Milton-Madison Bridge, which spans nearly a half-mile and weighs some 30 million pounds, will slide 55 feet laterally from its temporary piers and onto refurbished permanent piers.

Thunder Safety - Metro Council members advised people not to bring concealed guns to Thunder Over Louisville this Saturday. Some people have said they will stay away from the event because of recent downtown violence, while others have suggested on social media that they will arm themselves.

Thunder Security - On Tuesday some of the 26 new security cameras were being installed around the park. This year more officers will be patrolling after recent mob attacks and serious threats. Police encourage everyone if you see something suspicious to tell one of the many officers.

Flag - It's the nation's largest fireworks show and the most spectacular free aerial show in the country. Each year one of the most popular parts of Thunder Over Louisville is the giant American flag that flies before the show. But this year it looks like Old Glory won't be flying over the Ohio River the same way as usual.

3 Days – We are just 3 days away from Thunder Over Louisville! WAVE 3 News is your official station for everything Thunder. Tune in to WAVE 3 News Weekend Sunrise starting at 5:00 a.m. Our coverage continues all day on-air and online.

Cats Return - They fell just short of bringing a National Championship back to the Bluegrass, but after one of the most remarkable NCAA Tournament runs in University of Kentucky Basketball history, the Kentucky Wildcats returned home to thousands of cheering fans.

Tax Scam - It's the biggest scam to ever hit the IRS and it's hitting big cities like Louisville especially hard. The tax agency is so concerned that a spokesman stopped by WAVE 3 News hoping to put a stop to this especially devious scam. When you hear it, you might be surprised how easily it could get you too.

Car Safety - Consumer Reports has pulled its recommendation of three midsize SUVs after poor performances in a new crash test conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

Marina - A marina owner is still trying to clean up after trees caught in a flash flood ripped out his docks. Tuesday he showed us what was left of the dock at Creekside Landing after damaged docks had to be taken out.
