LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Louisville Metro Police have arrested one of three people who tried to steal a donation box set up by the Make A Wish Foundation.

An arrest report for Paige Nicole Horton, 21, says she was with two others in a vehicle in the parking lot of the Walmart at 12981 Shelbyville Road around 11:10 p.m. April 8. The vehicle tried to leave with the donation box, but a store customer pulled it out of their vehicle.

The report says the two people with Horton fled and left her behind in the parking lot. After the customer flagged down an officer, Horton became loud and started to scream and curse at the officer.

One of Horton’s companions, Christopher Powell, returned to the scene and admitted to police his involvement.

Horton was arrested for disorderly conduct. She was released from Louisville Metro Corrections during the early morning hours of April 9.

Charges against Powell were not immediately available.
