LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A dog in danger of losing one of his front legs was flown into Louisville for care Wednesday.
The Arrow Fund Director Rebecca Eaves said the shepherd and husky mix, named Blue, was discovered in Taylor County, Kentucky with gunshot wounds.
Dr. Jeff Allen flew him into Louisville to be treated at Blue Pearl Animal Hospital.
Radiographs taken at the hospital showed a bone in one of Blue's front legs was shattered from a gunshot. Eaves said he was given heavy pain medications and fluids.
Surgeons are expected to make a final decision on whether or not his leg can be saved Thursday morning.
