Man granted shock probation after deadly drunk driving crash arrested again for DUI

SHELBY COUNTY, KY (WAVE) - A Crestwood man who spent time in prison for a 2009 drunk driving crash that killed his girlfriend has been arrested again for DUI.

Cody File was 18 years old when he lost control of the car he was driving on River Road in 2009 and hit a tree. Caroline Minks, also 18, died in the crash. File's blood-alcohol level was 0.27.

File was sentenced to 14 years in prison, but he was granted shock probation after serving eight months.

Kentucky State Police say File was arrested Wednesday night and charged with DUI, failure to report a traffic accident, operating on a suspended operator's license, failure to surrender a revoked operator's license and failure to wear seatbelts.

File was taken to the Shelby County Detention Center.
