LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Three people from Ohio have been charged with kidnapping a woman and trying to extort money from her.

Arrest reports say Louisville Metro Police were called to Hotel Louisville at 120 W. Broadway on the kidnapping report. Once there, officers found a woman being detained inside a vehicle and the three people nearby.

Officers said the victim had injuries to her head and face. Before she was taken to University of Louisville Hospital for treatment, the victim told police the three had restrained her in the vehicle and were trying to extort $1,800 from her.

LMPD charged Deshonda Alford, 29, of Dayton, Simone R. Thomas, 25, and Jarvis D. Barnes, 26, both of Cincinnati, with kidnapping. All three are being held at Louisville Metro Corrections.
