Dan Dry

WAVE 3 News is proud to partner for Thunder Over Louisville with Dan Dry, the Chief Visual Officer and Senior Vice President at Power Creative. Dan is one of America's most widely recognized photographers. He has won over 400 national and international photography, advertising and design awards during his career.

Dan has received his profession's highest honor, having been named the National Press Photographer of the Year by the National Press Photographers Association.

He was a member of the Courier-Journal's Pulitzer Prize-winning photography staff from 1976 until 1982.

Dan left to C-J to work for the National Geographic Society where he spent eight years, traveling the world extensively and shooting a variety of assignments as a contract photographer.

He is the sole author of over 23 coffee table books and cookbooks as well; he has contributed numerous photographs to over 100 additional books, including America 24/7 and A Day in the Life of America, the only book of photography to ever top the New York Times bestseller list.

Dan's work is included in dozens of private and public collections including the George Eastman House International Museum of Photography and Film and the Corcoran Gallery of Art.

Dan and his wife of 25 years, Margaret Johnson Dry, have two daughters living in Chicago and St. Louis.
