LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Several students and one person in a pickup truck were treated after a three vehicle chain reaction accident that involved two JCPS buses on Monday morning.

The accident happened at Cane Run and Farnsley Roads at 8:40 a.m.

JCPS officials said bus 0118, carrying students to Byck Elementary School, was rear-ended by the truck. Bus 0147, taking students to Foster Elementary, then rear-ended the truck.

"It looks like to me somebody was speeding and then tried to stop, then slid, and then that kind of caused a domino effect," said parent Jason Harris.

A total of 38 student were aboard the two buses – 17 on one and 21 on the other.

16 students were transported to Kosair Children's Hospital. The driver of the pickup truck also was taken to a hospital.

Velma Coleman had two children on the first school bus. One was all right; the other was taken to Kosair Children's Hospital.

"It's kinda scary," Coleman said. "I'm Just hoping he's okay."

None of the injuries are believed to be serious.

Additional buses were brought to the scene to take the uninjured students to their schools.
