Man threatens to shoot roommates

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A Louisville man was arrested after a shot was fired in a home around several other people.

Officers were dispatched to a home on in the 3000 block of Greenwood Avenue around 4:00 a.m. on Sunday. According to a police report, James Warren Smith, 46, became angry about something that took place at Thunder Over Louisville.

When he returned home, three people were present. According to those victims, two of which live there as well, Smith said they had 10 minutes to get out of the house or he was going to get his gun. That's when he went upstairs, returned with a single shot, 20 gauge gun and pointed it at the witnesses.

Smith then held a gun to one victim's head, while another victim told Smith to, "kill her instead." At this time, the third victim began to fight with Smith. During the struggle, the gun went off.

Smith is facing eight wanton endangerment charges.
