LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A traffic stop for not using a turn signal led police to a man with numerous counterfeit CDs and movies.

His arrest report says Jarian D. Laird, 32, was driving a car that made a left turn onto 41st Street from Market around 6:25 p.m. April 13. When officers pulled the car over they saw a large stack of music CDs in plain view/. Police said Laird had illegally burned the music onto once blank CDs.

After Laird consented to a search of the car, police found not only the illegal CDs but more than 100 copies of movies which are still playing in theaters. Police also said Laird had printed lists of his inventory to give to customers. The inventory lists contained his cell phone number.

Laird, whose arrest report says has two previous conviction for selling counterfeit CDs, was arrested for offering illegal copies of recordings for sale and failure to use or improper use of a turn signal. He was released from Louisville Metro Corrections early April 14.
