LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A Louisville man was arrested Saturday afternoon during the Thunder Over Louisville festivities after another man was wounded by gunfire.
The shooting happened in the area of 7th Street and River Road around 4:50 p.m. While the victim being treated by medical crews, police said he was able to give a description of the man who shot him.
About one block away, police found a person matching the description, Donte L. Carver, 23, of Louisville. Carver, who was in possession of a loaded .22 caliber handgun, was arrested without incident.
Louisville Metro Police charged Carver with carrying a concealed weapon. He was arraigned April 14 and is being held on $1,500 cash bond.
On April 12, Carver was served a criminal summons for writing a bad check. According to court documents, on November 15, Carver unlawfully issued a check to a Valu Market totaling $149.10. He is due in court for that charge on April 28.
