Man granted shock probation after deadly drunk driving crash enters plea in new DUI case

NEW CASTLE, KY (WAVE) - A man facing a new DUI charge five years after killing his girlfriend in a drunk driving crash has pleaded not guilty.

Cody File, 23, was arraigned in front of a Henry County judge on Monday. He's being held on a $1,000 cash bond.

In 2009, File, then 18, caused a crash in Louisville that killed Caroline Meeks. After pleading guilty, he was sentenced to 14 years in prison, but just eight months later, he was granted shock probation.

File was arrested April 9 in Henry County and charged with DUI, failure to report a traffic accident, operating on a suspended license, failure to surrender a revoked operator's license and failure to wear seatbelts.
