LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Louisville Metro Police were able to catch a man committing a home burglary in the act.
Police were sent to a home in the 3100 block of Taylor Boulevard just after 9:35 p.m. April 14 on a burglary in progress. When officers arrived they found a man in the living room rummaging through cabinets and boxes.
A police K-9 officer announced the dog was coming inside the man in the home came out and surrendered. Douglas Edward Miller, 49, of Louisville, was charged with one count of burglary.
According to police, Miller kicked in a panel of the back door in an attempt to get inside before breaking in through the front door.
The arrest report says the homeowner was in the hospital at the time of the burglary.
