Belchertown police kick down door, rescue homeowner from fire

BELCHERTOWN, MA (WSHM) -

Belchertown police were forced to kick down a door in order to rescue someone from the home at 292 Gold St. while an attached garage burned to the ground.

The garage is a total loss and covered in foam, but everyone was able to get out of the fire safely, according to Belchertown Fire Chief Edward Bock.

No injuries were reported and there was no estimate on the cost of damage. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Belchertown Fire Marshall.
