LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A Louisville man remains in custody after he forced his way into a home on January 25 and struck the woman living there multiple times with a handgun.

According to an arrest warrant, Tevin Bald, 22, had been at the woman's home 10 days earlier visiting. When she left the room for a moment, the warrant says Bald took her laptop computer and left. However, Bald left behind his cell phone.

When Bald contacted the woman to get the phone back, she told him to bring the computer back and he could have his phone. The warrant says Bald continued to contact the woman making demands for the phone and saying he would come to her home and hurt her if he didn't get it back. Bald also told her not to call police.

Police said Bald kicked in the back door to get inside the home and found the woman hiding in her locked bedroom with her four children. Bald kicked the bedroom door down, pushed the woman down the stair and pointed the handgun at her before using it to strike her in the face.

Bald fled before police arrived, but contacted the woman while police were at her home. He warned her again not to call police, said he was "not playing" and "if she thought it was bad this time, wait until the next time he comes over."

LMPD arrested Bald at his home in the Park DuValle neighborhood on April 14 on charges of burglary, wanton endangerment and intimidating a participant in the legal process. Jail records show he is also charged with possession of a controlled substance in a 2013 case, also robbery and probation violation charges from 2011.
