LEXINGTON, KY (WAVE) – The man who started eight games last season as quarterback for the University of Kentucky will be leaving the Wildcats program.
In a press release, UK announced that Jalen Whitlow, a native of Montgomery, Alabama, will transfer from the school.
“We respect Jalen and his decision as we want the best for him,” said head coach Mark Stoops. “I thank Jalen for his contributions to the team during his time at Kentucky. I want everyone to understand how hard he has worked and the effort he has given since our staff has been here.”
“I appreciate the University of Kentucky and what the coaching staff and administration have done for me,” said Whitlow, who started in 15 games during his two years at UK. “I also thank the community and the fan support I have received here. I wish the coaches and my teammates the best of luck.”
Where Whitlow will continue his playing career is not known. He has two season of eligibility remaining. Whitlow said he will finish the spring semester at UK.
