LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Police say a man upset about the end of his relationship chased his ex-girlfriend's car and threw a wrench through a window.
An arrest warrant says on April 9 Sebastian Lee James, Sr., 37, of Louisville, pulled up next to a car containing his former girlfriend, her nine year old son, and the woman's aunt at Brook and First streets. The woman drove off trying to get away from James, but he chased her for nearly three minutes.
When her car was stopped for a light at Fourth and St. Catherine, James threw a wrench shattering the back window of the car and showering the young boy with glass.
The woman called LMPD to report the incident. While she was talking to officers, James called her. She put the call on speaker phone for the officers to hear. James admitted to throwing the wrench, but said he didn't mean to break the window.
James and the woman ended their relationship four months ago and the warrant said she has had to call police at least four times since then.
James was arrested April 16 by Jefferson County sheriff's deputies. He is charged with two counts of wanton endangerment and one count of criminal mischief.
