Naked man arrested in Walmart had previous nude run-in

TEGA CAY, SC (WBTV) -

A Fort Mill man who was arrested earlier this week after he was found walking naked inside the Walmart in Tega Cay. WBTV has learned it was not his first naked run in with police.

Kevin Hughes, 36, was charged with public disorderly conduct on Wednesday, according to the Tega Cay Police Department.

Employees spotted Hughes walking in the health and beauty section of the store, wearing only a pair of black tennis shoes.

When police arrived he had made his way over to the electronics, according to the report.

When he was escorted out of the store by police for questioning he told them the last he remembered was being as his sister's house in bed asleep.

The next thing he knew he woke up naked in his truck in the Walmart parking lot, according to the report.

Hughes told police he went inside the store to buy some clothes.

Officers allowed Hughes to put on a pair of shorts before he was arrested.

This isn't Hughes first time being caught by law enforcement naked in public.

In December 2012, Hughes was seen by two female joggers while running along Gold Hill Road, near the KOA campgrounds, wearing only shoes.

During the nude jog, York County Sheriff's deputies say Hughes knocked on the back window of a home along Citron Avenue and asked for a pair of shorts.

K-9 units were called out and found Hughes wearing a red sweat top and plaid pants.

At the time, deputies noted that Hughes "appeared to be high on some form of narcotics."

Hughes' sister told deputies that "she was not surprised of his behavior" saying that he has a severe drug problem.
