LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - The winners of the Kentucky Derby Festival Marathon and miniMarathon have crossed the finish line in downtown Louisville.

Former University of Louisville runner Wesley Korir was first place in the miniMarathon with a finish time of 1:03:36, according to KDF officials.

He beat the second place runner, Simion Chirchir, by just 17 hundredths of a second. Korir, who has won the miniMarathon four times, has also won the Los Angeles Marathon and the Boston Marathon.

Caroline Kiptoo was the first woman to cross the finish line in the miniMarathon with a time of 1:15:46.

Birhanu Tadesse was the winner of the Marathon. KDF recorded his time as 2:17:54.

Tezata Dengersa was the female Marathon winner with a time of 2:43:51. Anya Martinez of Louisville was third.
