The Daily Racing Form reports that trainer Larry Jones suffered severe injuries from a fall from his horse during training hours on Saturday morning at Delaware Park. DRF reports that Jones, who oftens gallops his own horses during training, was thrown from a horse and fell to the track on his face.
The Form says Jones suffered two fractured ribs, a bruised lung, and bleeding on the brain. As of Saturday evening, the trainer had no pressure on the brain and may not have to have surgery.
Larry Jones is a two-time winner of the Kentucky Oaks, and a two-time runnerup in the Kentucky Derby.
