LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – One man was wounded and another arrested after they exchanged gunfire on early on Easter Sunday.

An arrest report says Robert Joseph Boyd, 28, was at the home of his new girlfriend when her ex-boyfriend came knocking on the door. After Boyd answered the door, the two men got into an argument.

Boyd told the woman he was leaving to prevent a fight, but the arrest reports says the second man kept raising his shirt and showing a handgun in the waistband of his pants.

As Boyd walked to his car he said the second man followed him and reached for the gun on his waist. Boyd told officer he pulled his own gun from his car and shot at the man. During the exchange, the second man was hit twice – once in the face and leg.

Boyd was arrested for assault and booked into Louisville Metro Corrections.

Injuries to the second man are said to be non-life threatening.
