LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Two people have been arrested on charges they used the checking account of a woman whose purse had been stolen for their own benefit.

An arrest warrant says that DeAngelo Donnell Crenshaw, 35, used the checking account of the victim, whose purse had been stolen from her car, to pay his auto insurance.

A separate warrant states that between January 6 and January 9, 2014, Alethea Weathers, also, 35, cashed 13 checks from the victim's account at various stores. Surveillance video from several stores shows Weathers making out the check and signing the name of the victim on the signature line.

Crenshaw and Weathers were arrested at their home in Fairdale early on April 18. Crenshaw is charged with one count of receiving stolen goods. Weathers is charged with 13 counts of forgery and 13 counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument.
