LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A Louisville Metro police officer was heading to a trouble run about someone throwing rocks at cars when something else got his attention – the rock that hit his police car.
The officer was in the 11400 block of Shelbyville Road around 5:25 a.m. April 19 on a run about rocks being thrown at cars from a rooftop when his car became one of those hit. After other officers arrived, they searched the area. After climbing onto a roof, police found Hunter J. Goodan, 21, of Louisville, and Cody T. Himes, 21, of Mount Washington, hiding behind the ventilation system.
Goodan and Himes told officers their car had been hit by one of the rocks and they were looking for the person that threw it.
Police said both admitted to drinking beer at several bars along Bardstown Road and that Himes was unsteady on his feet.
Both Goodan and Himes were charged with public intoxication. Himes remains at Louisville Metro Corrections on an outstanding bench warrant.
