LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A Louisville man was summoned after he tried to cash a forged check.

According to a police report, Rickie Covington, 41, presented the check and his driver's license to a Fifth Third Bank on March 26. The check was made to draw on the account of the Economy Inn on Bardstown Road for $900.

Fifth Third Bank contacted the victim, Economy Inn, about the employment of Covington. When the inn advised Covington did not work there, he fled the scene. The incident was captured on video surveillance.
