LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A man placed into the Home Incarceration Program has been arrested after he cut off his ankle bracelet and left home.

Louisville Metro Corrections officers said they were able to track the anklet Sean A. Sokacz, 31, was wearing until he cut it off just before 1 a.m. April 21. The arrest report says Sokacz had been at home but got into a domestic argument and began destroying things in the house. Louisville Metro police were called, but Sokacz left before they arrived.

A LMPD K-9 was called in and located Sokacz hiding in a wooded area. Sokacz was bitten by the dog after refusing to follow orders to surrender.

After treatment at University of Louisville Hospital, Sokacz was booked into Metro Corrections on escape, tampering with a monitoring device and theft by failure to make required disposition of property.
