LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Louisville Metro Police arrested a man whose actions and comments caused alarm to others while he was in the downtown Louisville entertainment district.

John Chester Marshall, 55, of Bronx, NY, was arrested around 6:50 p.m. April 20. Police said Marshall was acting aggressive toward the staff at Maker's Mark and got into a physical altercation with security officers before leaving.

While officers were investigating this incident, police were sent to 5th Street and Muhammad Ali Boulevard on a fight involving a man matching the same description. Officers found Marshall, who they say was intoxicated, at a car yelling at the men inside that he hates African-Americans. The arrest report says Marshall also displayed his hatred for African-Americans toward police.

Marshall was arrested and charged with public intoxication, disorderly conduct and failure to notify and address change to the Department of Transportation. The latter charge came because Marshall told officers he had lived in Prospect for the past six months but had not changed his ID.
