LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – An 18-year-old who was acquitted of his stepbrother's murder in August of 2013 and was recently taken into custody after he was accused of assaulting his live-in girlfriend is facing more charges.

According to a police report filed by Louisville Metro police and court records, on Tuesday at 10:50 a.m. Josh Young was charged with retaliating against participant in legal process and fourth degree assault.

The charges were filed after police said on April 18, Young drove by the victim's home and called for him and his girlfriend from the vehicle. Shortly after officers said Young saw the victim on foot, approached him and hit him in the face with a closed fist. The victim fled on foot to his home where police were called.

Once the victim was inside the home police said Young and another person tried to get inside the house by using force, but the victim was able to keep them out. Since they were unable to go inside they tried to get the victim to come outside and fight them. When the victim refused the two fled on foot.

Court records state the victim knows Young and testified against him in Jefferson District Court.

Young is currently being held at Louisville Department of Corrections where he was taken just before 2 a.m. Saturday for allegedly assaulting his live-in girlfriend. According to a police report, Young hit the woman in the stomach hard enough to make her vomit. Later, he climbed on top of her, grabbed her around the throat with one hand and held a pillow over her face with the other.

Young faces a felony first-degree wanton endangerment charge, as well as a misdemeanor fourth-degree assault charge from the alleged assault.

He is scheduled to be arraigned on his most recent charges Wednesday morning.
