Contents of brown bag lead to man's arrest

BARDSTOWN, KY (WAVE) – A brown bag in the passenger seat of a vehicle landed a man behind bars during a traffic stop in Bardstown.

According to the Bardstown Police Department, around 10:10 p.m. Monday officers pulled over a 2007 Ford Focus on the Bluegrass Parkway. A K-9 officer was called to assist during the stop and indicted drugs were inside of the vehicle.

The officers searched the vehicle and discovered the bag which had approximately 71 grams of methamphetamine, $6,800 in cash, digital scales and other paraphernalia commonly used in the packaging of methamphetamine inside.

The driver of the vehicle, Brandon Bishop, 26, was taken into custody and charged with trafficking a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, probation violation and speeding.
