Identity of woman found dead inside Nelson Co home released

BARDSTOWN, KY (WAVE) – The identity of a woman who was found dead inside a home in Nelson County along with a 16-year-old has been released.

According to Kentucky State Police Trooper Jeff Gregory, Kathy Netherland, 48, and the 16-year-old girl were pronounced dead at a home in the 5100 block of Springfield Drive around 10:40 a.m. Tuesday.

"We received a call from a family member that they were going to come over and check because one of the family members didn't go to school today and when he came over he found both of the victims inside and immediately called us and that's when we got out here," said KSP Lt. Jeremy Thompson.

Police are have not released how the victims died or the manner of death, but they have said there were obvious signs of trauma.

Throughout the day investigators combed the area searching for any clues outside of the home. Anyone with information in the case is asked to contact KSP by calling (270) 766-5078.
