LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Two people have been arrested on charges they were involved in shoplifting incidents at two convenience stores in the south-central Louisville Metro.

William Charles Pillman, 53, and Priscilla Ann Shannon, 48, both of Louisville, were arrested early April 23. Around 2:50 a.m., arrest reports say Pillman entered the Speedway store at 4900 Outer Loop and fled without paying for 30 cartons of cigarettes while Shannon served as the getaway driver. The cigarettes were valued at $2,100.

Pillman and Shannon were stopped by Louisville Metro Police at Poplar Level Road and Huntington Park Drive about 50 minutes later. The reports say Shannon gave police a statement that she and Pillman were involved in the theft.

The pair are also suspects in another shoplifting case that happened one hour earlier at a Circle K store at 4301 Preston Highway. Police reports say two 18 packs and one 30 pack of beer was taken from that store. Clerks were able to provide the license plate of the car used and the description of the suspect.

Pillman and Shannon are charged each one count of shoplifting. Pillman is also charged with theft by unlawful taking under $500. Both are being held at Louisville Metro Corrections. They are expected to be arraigned on April 24.
