LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Thursday has been a really nice day with afternoon highs in the 70s. The evening looks dry and warm with temps slowly falling off through midnight. As that takes place, a line of storms will be approaching from the west.
They may be severe initially, but should weaken as they approach Interstate 65. We will keep an eye on them as some will have gusty winds as they pass through.
The rain may lag through the morning rush but should push east by mid morning. Sunshine in fact is expected to return which should help warm us up by into the 70s.
The weekend continues to trend dry and quite warm with temps between 80 and 85 looking increasingly likely.
By late Sunday night through Tuesday, showers and storms are expected to increase. Some could become strong if not severe. We will update that as we get closer. The same storm system is still expected to stall over the area for mid-late week next week. So the chance for showers and cool weather continues to look on the table through Oaks Day and perhaps even Derby Day, but remaining optimistic!
This evening: Increasing clouds, warm. Temps: Around 70
Overnight: Showers and storms likely. Some gusty. Low: 60
Friday: Showers east early in the day. Sunshine by the lunch-hour. High: 75
Weekend: Partly to mostly sunny. High: low 80s
