LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A Boil Water Advisory has been
issued for residents who live in and around the Highlands neighborhood by the Louisville
According to the LWC, the advisory was issued as a
precautionary measure due to a loss of water pressure caused by a water main break
at the intersection of Baxter Avenue and Eastern Parkway on Thursday.
All customers in the areas between Bardstown Road, from
Broadway to Trevilian Way, on the eastside of the Highlands, and the
intersection of Poplar Level Road and Trevilian Way stretching north to Broadway
on the Westside are under the advisory.
LWC officials said all customers under the advisory should:
Bring all water used
for drinking, food preparation and cooking to a rolling boil for three minutes
Not use chilled
water lines on refrigerators.
Not use ice from automatic
The Boil Water Advisory will remain in effect until further notice.
