Onalaska Police officers arrested a 23-year-old
woman after a citizen driving through the Old Town neighborhood spotted a
3-year-old boy walking in the middle of the street, and the officers found the
woman asleep at her home Wednesday morning.
Tera Elizabeth Walker is still being held in the
Polk County Jail on four felony charges, abandoning or endangering a
child-criminal negligence, abandoning or endangering a child-imminent danger of
bodily injury, possession of a controlled substance less than 1 gram in a
drug-free zone, possession of a controlled substance between 3 and 28 grams in
a drug-free zone.
Collectively, Walker's bail was set at $60,000.
Capt. John Maddox said the woman who spotted the
3-year-old boy walking down the middle of the street called 911 because she
felt the child was in imminent danger.
Maddox said when Onalaska PD officers went to Walker's
house, she was "extremely asleep." The officers also found two Hydrocodone
