The largest non-profit in the nation supporting healthy moms and babies, raised thousands of dollars this morning during a 5K walk.
About 3,000 people came out to support the March of Dimes during the organizations annual walk.
The event took place Saturday at the Renaissance at Colony Park in Ridgeland.
After the stroll around the Renaissance, families enjoyed some dancing, games and snacks.
Saturday's walk raised about $200,000 for March of Dimes.
All of the money will be used to keep Mississippi babies healthy.
The March of Dimes is the largest organization in the nation that financially supports healthy moms and their babies.
"Research, education, advocacy work that provides new born screenings to all of our babies nationwide and all of the babies born here in Mississippi... That advocacy work is done solely by the non profit organization March of Dimes," said Dina Ray, MS State Director of the March of Dimes.
In recent years money from March of Dimes helped fund research for surfactant, which helps lungs expand when they are too immature.
