Reds fall to Braves at Turner Field

The Braves finished with more home runs than the Reds did hits to beat Cincinnati 4-1 on Saturday at Turner Field.

Ryan Ludwick staked the Reds to a first inning one-run lead, but the Braves hit three home runs off Mike Leake the first three innings.

Freddie Freeman hit a two-run shot in the first inning and Justin Upton hit back-to-back home runs with Evan Gattis in the third to give Atlanta the early cushion.

"I thought (Leake) actually threw the ball really well," said Bryan Price on FSO after the game.

"I'm sure he'll probably have a tougher assessment of his performance than I do.  But, they got him early.  They got the three home runs early in the game…and that hurts," said Price.

Atlanta starter David Hale held the Reds to just one hit after the first inning finishing with eight innings of one-run baseball.

The Reds finish the road trip with Johnny Cueto on the mound.  Cueto has thrown back-to-back complete games and will need to win Sunday to avoid a sweep in Atlanta.

The Reds return to Great American Ball Park on Monday.
