Suspect shot by police out of hospital, behind bars

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – The man who was shot by Louisville Metro Police after a home invasion is now in jail.

Timothy M. Adams, 35, is charged with burglary and three counts of wanton endangerment. His arrest report says Adams told police he went to the apartment in the 600 block of Huntington Park Drive around 4:40 a.m. April 18 to confront the resident there.

Adams said he waited until the man and woman were upstairs before he forced his way in through a rear window. Once inside, Adams confront the residents with a handgun before he allowed them to leave.

When LMPD officers arrived, Adams was still inside the apartment and would not comply with police commands. He was shot after point the handgun at police.

Adams was booked at Louisville Metro Corrections after his release from University Hospital on April 25.
