LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A man wanted for the snatch-and-grab robbery of a Shively business has been arrested.

According to Shively police, the robbery took place just before noon on April 17 when Dashawn M. Rush, 24, entered Autosound and asked the clerk for a specific Kenwood car stereo model. When the clerk returned with the item, Rush snatched it from his hands and left without paying for it.

Rush fled in a car which he ran into a ditch in the 4700 block of Vanhoose. Police said Rush then abandoned the car and fled on foot with the stereo leaving his girlfriend behind in the car.

Police impounded the car, which is registered to Rush's mother. She had reported the vehicle stolen that day.

Rush was arrested April 30 by Louisville Metro Police and U.S. Marshals in the 3300 block of Algonquin Parkway. He is charged with robbery and receiving stolen property.
