Police: Passenger airlifted after driver left scene of alcohol-related ATV accident

CLARK CO., IN (WAVE) – The driver of an ATV that rolled over, causing serious head injuries to the passenger, was charged with leaving the scene of the accident.

Justin Bruner, 37, of Sellersburg, was driving the ATV near Bushman's Marina in New Washington around 9:15 p.m. on May 3.

The passenger, Christopher Harrod, 37, of Jeffersonville was airlifted to University of Louisville Hospital after the ATV rolled over multiple times, trapping him inside, according to a report from the Indiana Department of Natural Resources law enforcement division.

Bruner was found near the area later on the evening of May 3. He is charged with leaving the scene of a serious bodily injury accident.

An investigation is ongoing. Police say alcohol was a contributing factor.
