MEMPHIS, TN -
(WMC) - It has been a tough year for the Victory University Baseball team. On March 6 the players were told baseball was over because the school would be closing, but the Eagles and their coaches were not finished.

After WMC Action News 5 aired a story about the team, generous donors stepped up to the plate to fund the rest of the season.

In a true "victory" for a team that just would not quit, on Sunday team members sent WMC cellphone video which shows their reaction as they were chosen to play in the Small College World Series in Springfield, Illinois.

Meanwhile, The Life Church has purchased the property that once housed the now closed Victory University.

The church has been worshipping in a temporary home at the Malco Paradiso. The building gives them a permanent home for their East Memphis location.
