LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Louisville Metro Police have arrested a woman after they say she took the car of a neighbor and had it scrapped.
Stephanie L. Satterly, 30, was arrested May 2. Her arrest report says that without the knowledge of the 69 year old disabled woman, Satterly sold the woman's car to a tow and scrap company for personal gain.
According to the arrest report, the woman's son is an inmate in the Shelby County Detention Center. He requested Satterly put the money on his commissary account.
Police said the woman, who is in need of around the clock care, was not aware her car was missing.
Satterly is charged with theft by unlawful taking of an auto and exploiting an adult.
