Man runs out of shoes running from deputy

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A man attending the Kentucky Oaks never got to see the race after he was arrested for being drunk in public and running from police.

An arrest report says a Jefferson County deputy sheriff saw Nicholas Lionetti, 19, with a bottle of alcohol and ordered him to stop. Instead Lionetti ran and was taken into custody by Louisville Metro Police.

During his flight for freedom, Lionetti ran out of his shoes and tried to climb a metal barrier, but fell on his own.

Lionetti was charged with alcohol intoxication in a public place and fleeing and evading police.
