RESTON, Va., May 6, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Indigo IT, LLC has been selected by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) as the 2014 National Prime Contractor of the Year. This award honors small businesses that have provided the government with outstanding goods and services as prime contractors. Only Federal agencies can nominate companies for the Small Business Prime Contractor of the Year Award and each Federal agency can nominate only one firm for this award. The Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) nominated Indigo IT in January 2014 for the company's exceptional technology support migrating DISA Mission Partners to the DoD Enterprise Email (DEE) environment (the DISA Cloud). The DISA DEE is the largest private Cloud in the world and is designed to serve 4 million users. In September 2013, DoD Chief Information Officer (CIO), Teresa Takai, issued a Memo stating that DoD supports the transition of all of DoD to the DEE as the Joint Information Environment and included it into the DoD Information Enterprise Architecture. As such, CIO Takai tasked all of DoD with developing a DEE Implementation Plan by the end of January 2014 and the initiation of implementation to the DEE not later than the first Quarter of Fiscal Year 2015. Indigo IT is the only IT services consultant performing the migration of DoD Mission Partners to the DISA DEE. Indigo IT has met every challenge with professionalism, intelligence and innovation while always staying on schedule and within budget.
