Brian Goode: One more day of summer-warmth before thunderstorms roll in

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A warm night is underway. Lows in the city are likely to remain stuck in the mid 60s with a few 50s in the suburbs.

Cirrus clouds are racing toward our area and will arrive by Thursday morning. This will lead to hazy sunshine, but still quite warm into the upper 80s. Showers and storms are still expected for Friday with timing of west to east starting around lunchtime through the afternoon. Another wave may move in during the evening and overnight. The severe threat remains low, but a few strong storms cannot be ruled out with the first batch in the afternoon.

Spotty showers and storms are expected over the weekend with highs varying in the 70s to near 80 degrees.

FORECAST:

Overnight: Mainly clear, mild. Low: 66

Thursday: Hazy sunshine, becoming cloudy by night. High: 88, Low: 67

Friday: Showers and storms after noon. High: Near 80 before the storms
