LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Louisville Metro Police make an arrest in a 14 month old vehicle theft case after tracking an item found inside back to the person who purchased it.
The theft happened on March 17, 2013 when a 2001 Infinity was taken from the Seelbach Hotel. Six days later, officers responding to a burglar alarm at a business on Bishop Lane found the vehicle abandoned, but still warm.
Inside the vehicle, police found a receipt and drivers license with a man's name on it. They also found medical information and a letter from the Cabinet for Health and Family Services belonging to Serena Allen, 25, of Louisville.
The receipt showed syringes in the car were purchased at a Walmart on March 21, 2013. Surveillance video from the store showed Allen and the man getting out of the car to enter the store along with returned to and leaving the store with their purchase.
LMPD filed charges of receiving stolen property against Allen, who is also known as Selena Rodriguez. She was already in custody at Louisville Metro Corrections on other charges.
