MADISON, Ind. (AP) - A southern Indiana man has pleaded guilty to a neglect charge stemming from the death of his infant son.
Thirty-two-year-old Christopher A. Coy of Madison pleaded guilty Thursday in a Jefferson County court to neglect of a dependent resulting in death.
The Madison Courier reports Coy admitted his actions resulted in the death of his 6-week-old son. He was arrested in June 2012 after the child died at a Louisville, Kentucky hospital.
The charge states that Coy was neglectful because he did not provide his son with proper medical care, leading to his death from injuries.
An autopsy found his son died from blunt-force trauma to the head. A medical examiner's report showed the infant had a fractured skull, blood in the brain and retinal hemorrhaging.
