LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A Louisville man is facing charges that he stole the wallet of an acquaintance and later used the other man's identification to open credit accounts.
An arrest warrant says Brian Patrick Taylor, 43, was out with the man on the night of September 28, 2013 and early morning hours of September 29. After that night out the man discovered the wallet missing.
On February 1, 2014, the warrant said Taylor opened three credit card accounts using the man's identification. Later in the month, Taylor is accused of trying to open five more credit accounts, but the applications were denied.
Taylor was seen on store surveillance video trying to open one of the accounts. He also forged the application using the victim's identification and presented the man's stolen drivers license to the store.
Taylor was arrested May 11 on charges of forgery, theft of identity and theft by unlawful taking.
